Expanding the Outlook Bar

The column on the left side of your Outlook screen is called the Outlook bar. You can drag the Outlook bar higher and add more buttons to the expanded Outlook bar by dragging the handle at the top of the bar (above the Mail button). As you drag the handle the Outlook bar grows and more buttons appear such as the Notes and Shortcuts buttons.

If you click the arrow at the bottom of the Outlook bar you can add more buttons to the Outlook bar. For example, you can add the Journal button to the Outlook bar as shown in Figure 16.9.
